These days, not getting enough sleep is quite common, and those who get the proper eight hours needed for good physical and mental health are more the exception than the rule. It can even contribute to obesity and diet-related conditions such as type-2 diabetes.
Generally speaking, the body repairs itself through a normal period of sleep. Without this period of rest and recuperation, this natural repair process is disturbed an incomplete. As evidenced here, sleep disorders such as insomnia which result in a lack of sleep can cause many noticeable side effects. In other words, a lack of sleep is hard to hide!
